It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, Dave Brockbank, on Wednesday January 8th, 2025, at the age of 65.
Beloved husband of the late Jo-Anne (nee Duff). Loving father of Melissa (David), Scott (Sara) and Amy (Cody).
“The Best Grandpa Ever” to Gavin, Scarlett, Wyatt and Austin. He was the cherished son of Doreen and the late Doug Brockbank. Dave was a dear brother of Brad (Kim), Lori Webb (predeceased) and Brian Brockbank. He was predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, Joe and Nancy Duff. Dave will be lovingly remembered by brothers-in-law of Dan Duff (Edith) and Terry Duff (Michelle) along with his many cousins, nieces, nephews and his extended family.
Known for his kindness and humour, Dave made friends wherever he went, and his legacy will live on in their hearts. Dave fought a courageous battle with cancer and is now at peace. Though he left us too soon, his legacy of love, strength and humour will live on in all that knew him. Dave shared a special bond with his faithful canine companions, Jackson, Bentley and Daisy who brought him endless joy. He was a longtime employee of Dorr - Oliver/ GL&V and Casino Rama. He enjoyed family gatherings, watching Leaf games, sitting around the campfire and playing with his grandkids.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the family to honour Dave with a memorial bench in one of many trails he loved as well as to the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Royal Victoria Hospital Oncology unit and the OSPCA in Dave’s honour. A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E., Orillia on Wednesday January 15th, 2025, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.simcoefuneralhome.ca
