BUNDY, Barbara Mae (nee Parkinson)

Peacefully at the Birchmere Residence, Orillia, In in her 80th year after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Predeceased by her husband of 47 years Bill Bundy (2008). Loving Mother of Lee-Anne Leckie (Jeff Russell) of Barrie and Amy Wallace (Al) of Orillia. Nana to Laura and Kailyn Leckie, Erin and Cody Speers, Tina and Rob Wallace . Predeceased by her parents Floyd and Gladys Parkinson and Sister Lois Tomlinson. Lovingly remembered by brother in law Doug Tomlinson. Very Special Friend to Don MacEachern. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Physiotherapy she married Bill in 1961 and they settled in Orillia. After her Physiotherapy career she followed her true passion of Interior Design, enjoying many years at Pioneer Handcraft. Barb enjoyed so many great aspects of life including travelling, cottage life and many bridge games. She volunteered her time with the Orillia Figure Skating Club and St. James Place, and St. James Anglican Church. There are lasting memories with the Railroad Bridge Club, her ladies bridge club and the infamous Dirty Dozen. The past number of years she has struggled with the debilitation of Alzheimer’s disease. We would like to thank the staff on the 2nd Floor of the Birchmere especially Dorothy and Verna who always made Mom feel like the most important person there. Visitation will be held on Thursday March 22, 2018 at the Mundell Funeral Home 79 West St. N., Orillia from 7 - 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday March 23, 2018 at St. James Anglican Church 58 Peter St. N., Orillia at 11 a.m. Should you wish, donations in Barb’s memory to the new hospice opening in Orillia - Mariposa House - www.mariposahousehospice.com or St. James Anglican Chuech are appreciated.
