David Samuel Camick passed away peacefully on September 15,2024, at RVH, Barrie, ON. Born on December 16, 1943, in Kilworthy, ON, he lived a life marked by determination, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his family and career.

Dave's professional journey began in the early 1960s when apprenticed at Johnston & Graham Plumbing and Electrical. In 1964, he embarked on his own entrepreneurial path, founding his own plumbing and electrical company. His ambitions did not stop there; he later acquired a sanitation truck and established a sanitation business, dedicated to building septic fields and emptying septic tanks. Remarkably, he continued to work in this field for over 50 years, demonstrating a work ethic that few could rival. He lovingly passed his business on to his son, Scott, yet remained actively involved in his trade right up to the end.

Beyond his career, Dave was known for his vibrant personality and interests. He was a workaholic, yet he found joy in playing cards and was often known to be lucky with draws. He tended to his sprawling lawn, farmed beef cattle and he even renewed his DZ license at the admirable age of 80, underscoring his determination and zest for life.

He leaves behind a loving family who cherished him deeply. David is survived by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Bonnie Lynne (nee Canning), and their children, Paisley Donaldson (Fraser) and Scott Camick. He was a devoted grandfather to the late Meggi, Holly Horvat (Bowie), Whitney Fortney (Keith), Mariah Gorman (Evan), and Walker. He also took pride in being a great-grandfather to Gunner, Tulsa, Tucker, Gabe, and Lochlan.

Friends and family are invited to the visitation which will take place on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cavill Funeral Home in Gravenhurst where the A funeral service will follow on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM, followed by reception at the Gravenhurst Royal Canadian Legion.

David Samuel Camick's legacy of hard work, love for his family, and determination will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
