COOK: Christopher James

Posted

Chris Cook
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher James Cook on Wednesday March 3, 2021at the age of 32. Christopher was the cherished son of Anne and Ken Cook, the much loved older brother of Lauren (Klodi Trimi) and Alena, and the beloved grandson of Catherine Bullen (Fayne) and Marion and Allan Cook (predeceased). Fondly remembered by aunts and uncles Selina and Bob Lochead and Bruce Cook and Carole Cook.

Christopher was unimaginably courageous and determined. In the last years of his life he fought and won so many battles. Every few months there was a new health hurdle to conquer, and although he was often discouraged, he never gave up. When he was younger he loved adventure and was passionate about snowboarding, mountain biking and motorcycles. He loved to be active. He was creative and funny. Christopher was very proud to have obtained his second class power engineering license. Unfortunately, his health issues prevented him from pursuing his dream of working in a power plant. We will forever miss his dry wit, his charm, and his beautiful infectious smile.

We would like to sincerely thank all of the many doctors and nurses at Soldiers Memorial, Toronto General, Southlake, and Sunnybrook hospitals who treated Christopher with kindness and respect. And a special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Peter Deimling, who cared for our son for many years.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date. If desired, donations to the Orillia Youth Centre or the dialysis unit at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Christopher’s name would be appreciated and will be accepted by the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595.
