Theodorus Johannes Cornelius (Ted) de Groot

It is with deep sadness that on December 20, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Theodorus (Ted) de Groot, who passed peacefully at the age of 85, surrounded by his adoring family.

He was predeceased by his parents Johannes and Maria; siblings Josephine, Peitrus, and Cornelius; daughter Anita; and an infant son.

He is survived by Anneliese, his loving wife of 60 years; his children Josie (Marc), Theo, Anna Maria (James), Jackie (Greg), and Thea (Bob); his beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, and loving in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the incredible staff at Oak Terrace care home in Orillia, Ontario, for their continuous support and extraordinary care.

A graveside ceremony will be held at St. Joseph’s cemetery (Durham Rd 15, Beaverton, Ontario) at noon on Saturday, May 11, 2024, followed by a celebration of life and reception at the Brechin Legion (2146 Concession Rd 4, Brechin, Ontario) from 1pm to 4pm.
