It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Dixon on Dec. 5 in his 98th year. Loving husband to the late Jane (nee Mulcock) and devoted father to John, Gord and Ann.
He was born on June 25, 1927 to Norman and Emma Dixon in Strathhaven, Ontario. Bill always stayed connected to his Strathaven roots and loved to share memories of his childhood with his four brothers and one sister.
Bill is survived by his children John and his wife Tammy, Gord and his wife Ruth and Ann and her husband Stephan and grandchildren Emily (Chris) and Matthew (Kate).
Bill loved life and always saw the best in people. You would find him with a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eye and a joke up his sleeve. People were happy to be around him.
He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews and had a special relationship with his brother-in-law, Jim Mulcock and the Eric Scott family.
Bill will be terribly missed for his wonderful sense of humour. With never an unkind word, he lived life to the fullest. He will be remembered for his commitment to Mimico and Esson Presbyterian churches, and his passion for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. He was their number one fan.
A funeral service and visitation will be held starting at 11 a.m. on Dec. 12, 2024 at Mundell’s Funeral home in Orillia, Ontario. Memorial donations may be made to either Esson Presbyterian Church or the Canadian Red Cross Society.
