Betty passed away peacefully at Trillium Manor, Orillia, ON on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the age of 97. Predeceased by her husband Manley Edward Doyle (1967). Loving Mother to Erin McCorkindale (Bob), Shaunna Watters (Ron), Deirdre Gratton (Dan), Jill Silk (Eldee) and Bronwyn Doyle (Alyx Jones).

She was a loving grandmother of Sean Finley (Natasha Frid-Finlay) Jesse Watters, Desiree Watters, Wesley Watters, Adlai Gratton, Tessera Jones (Sean Ryles) and Olivia Silk. She was a great grandmother to Elodie (Frid-Finlay), Carver (Jones-Ryles), Etienne (Frid-Finlay).

Betty was born at Lawrence Station, Ontario to Clayton and Hazel Reicheld (nee O’Neill). She is predeceased by her elder sister Irene and her husband Hank (Brown). She continues to be loved by her younger brother Arnold Reicheld (Caroll).

Betty attended London Normal School, Class of 1947. Following graduation she taught at the Carlyon School (now Severn Township), Chapleau School and Barry’s Bay School. She married Manley Edward Doyle on July 6,1951 in Thamesville, ON. Following their marriage they moved and worked at a number of locations in Canada ranging from Quebec to British Columbia, they settled in Atikokan, ON where Manley Doyle successfully owned and operated M.E. Doyle Construction (road building). They were blessed with five daughters all born in Atikokan. Following Manley’s sudden death in 1967, Betty moved with her daughters to Orillia, ON where she continued to live until her passing. She was a devoted Mother, a hockey fan and an avid reader. She was a strong advocate for literacy which led her to volunteer as an instructor with Project Word Power where she tutored many people, young and old, as well as teaching ESL to new Canadians.

Service will be held at Basic Funerals and Cremation Choices, Jennet Memorial Centre, 152 Bradford Street, Barrie, ON on Sunday, November 17, 2024. Visitation at 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. followed by a Reception at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be held with the family members on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 1 p.m., at the Thornton Cemetery.
