GENNINGS, Daniel Stewart Curtis - Passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 in Eganville, Ontario at the age of 44.
Beloved son of Linda and the late Boyd Gennings (2009). Little brother to Michael. Brother-in-law to April. Proud and caring uncle of Samuel and George.
Predeceased by his grandparents, Willis and Irene Gennings, and Stewart and Hazel Cave, and his uncle, Bryan Gennings.
Nephew to Mary and Ed Ryynanen, Ray and Tina Cave, Scott and Tammy Cave, Janet Gennings, Glenda Deakin.
Cousin to Travis, Diane, Julia, David, Tonya, Sean, Abby, and Matthew.
Daniel was born and raised in Barrie. He attended Warnica Public School and Innisdale Secondary School. He later went to Loyalist College in Belleville, graduating with an honours diploma in sales and marketing.
Growing up, Daniel was a remarkable athlete, playing house league and rep level hockey and baseball in Barrie. As a child and adult he also enjoyed fishing. Daniel was a skilled handcrafter and a fine artist.
As a teen, he managed a witnessed hole-in-one at the Allandale Golf and Country Club.
Daniel had a keen interest in watching sports over the years and later in life became a Christian and enjoyed exploring his newfound faith.
Daniel, a quiet type of person, had a wry sense of humour. He cared deeply for the people who mattered even though he wasn’t always good at articulating his feelings.
For about the last 13 years, Daniel lived and worked in Orillia where he developed a network of friends and acquaintances who will miss him.
Friends will be received by his family at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Sunday October 27, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday October 28, 2024 in the funeral home Chapel at 11 o’clock. Light reception to follow. Interment Mansfield Presbyterian Cemetery.
