It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of David Percy Goldsmith, age 72, at Mariposa House Hospice on June 22, 2024, after fighting cancer for 21 years. Retired from the Ministry of Attorney General and previously worked many years at Huronia Regional Center, both in Orillia. David is survived by the love of his life Susan (nee. Fletcher), married for almost 50 years and will be remembered for the love of his family. David was a loving Father of Mathew (Kari) and Michael (predeceased) and a cherished “Poppa” of Coulson and Finley. Dear Son of Albert and Elsie (predeceased), Brother of Wanda Lavigne (Jerry) both predeceased, Mary Hoekstra (Philip), and of Albert “Bob” and Donald.
David and Susan loved wintering in Florida at their place in Winter Haven. David was always active, playing hockey, fishing, golfing, camping, working on his many projects, and in his gardens.
Following cremation, please join us to celebrate David’s life, at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N. Orillia, on July 5th, 2024, from 11am until 12 noon. Interment to follow at St. Andrew's - St. James' Cemetery at 12:30 pm. If desired, please direct all memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Mariposa House Hospice.
