Peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital after a brief but courageous battle on Friday, March 2nd, 2018 at the age of 87. Tex Howard of Orillia, beloved husband of Marion (nee: Allan) for 61 years. Loving father of Brenda Udell (Jerry predeceased), Chuck, and Dave & wife Michelle. Cherished grandfather of Krista & Ron, Alison & Brent, Whitney & Josh. Proud great grandfather of McKayla, Kyle, Ava, Charlie & Hudson. Brother of Ivan, Mervin & Helen both predeceased. Tex will be lovingly remembered by brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and his many, many friends. Tex was an All Star Baseball Player with the Orillia Majors and Athlete of the Year in 1961. He was a true gentleman and entertained many people for years with his bands - Western Strings, Hometown Country and Tex & Dottie. His spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Following cremation, the family will receive friends at ODAS Park for a Celebration of Tex's Life on Friday afternoon, March 9th from 1 o'clock until 4:30 with Memories being shared at 2:30.
