It is with great sadness that we announce that Thomas Edward Johnson passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Andy’s House Muskoka Hospice in Port Carling. Tommy had a long battle with COPD and was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.

Tommy leaves behind his beloved partner of more than 30 years, Debbie McMaster. Also his sons, Randy and Eddie, step-daughter Sara, and grandchildren Mason, Seth, MaryJane, Christopher, Tyler (predeceased) and Aurora.

Tommy was born September 2, 1961 to Gail Smith and Thomas O’Neil (predeceased). He was very lucky to acquire two other Dads, Ray Johnson (Sharon) and Vic Parsons (Trisha) whom he loved dearly. He also leaves behind two brothers, Jamie Johnson (Denise) and Steve Parsons (Jennifer), and his cousin Jennifer Smith, along with their children. He will also be missed by other family members, co-workers and friends.

Tommy spent most of his life growing up in Orillia. When he met Debbie, they moved to Severn Bridge (where he is fondly known as Tippy). He was a dedicated and admired automotive machinist at Parry Automotive for over 25 years.

Tommy lived life to the fullest, loving snowmobiling, fishing, camping, hunting, ATVing and travelling. He raised chickens and processed maple syrup. Tommy and Debbie made friends wherever they went and have a very large circle of cherished friends. He was so loved by everyone who met him.

A special thank you to all the staff at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge, especially Dr. Jessica Reid, and the Palliative Care Team that helped make it possible for Tommy to spend 10 days at home. And a special thank you to the Angels that work at Andy’s House.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Andy’s House in Port Carling or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated.

A Celebration of Tommy’s Life will be held at his home next summer. Future date to be announced.
