Passed away on June 24, 2024 at Mariposa House Hospice, Severn, after a short battle with cancer.
She is survived by her cherished husband of 58 years, Keith Leigh. Starr is lovingly missed by her son Robbie Leigh (Tammy), sister Beverly (Rob) Rafferty, brother -in-law David (Lori), nieces Samantha, Nicole, Allison and nephew Michael, life long friends Sharon (Allan) Wilson and Gary (Susan) Dodsley, grandchildren Kristen, Erin, Garrett, D.J., Jessica, great grandchildren Alexander, Aliviyah, Ben, Marley, Kallie, Jayden, Moira and close friends/Neighbours Roger (Valarie) Smith as well as numerous friends she made over the years.
Starr was born January 26, 1946. She was raised in Midland, Ontario and after meeting her husband, settled in Oro-Medonte to build a life and a family. Before retirement Starr spent 30 years as a musical therapist at the Huronia Regional Centre (HRC). During the summer months there was always a flowers garden to tend, a car show to enjoy with Keith or an adventure to embark upon with her best friend Sharon. Florida was their destination of choice for the winter months to escape the cold temperatures throughout her life. Starr and Keith enjoyed visiting campgrounds and travelling internationally to see the world.
The Leigh family would like to thank the staff at the hospice for the attentive loving care they provided to Starr, as well as the support to her loved ones.
