It is with sadness the family of Bill announces his passing, Wednesday, July 18, 2018. In his 92nd year and the beloved husband of Shirley for 65 years, Bill leaves behind his bride; children Lenore (Steven) Ball, William Charles, Roseanne and Lisa (Steven) Tors. Grandchildren Lauren (Greg) Hewitt, Duncan (Jamie-Lee) Ball, Michael Gervais, Samantha Gervais, and Katarina Rind will miss their Grandad, and great-grandchildren Archer, Calvin and Livia Hewitt, Karson Gervais and Logan, Greyson and Maxwell Ball will miss their GG. Predeceased by parents Angelo and Alma Lobraico (nee Terry) and siblings Donald (Mary) Lobraico and Anne (Bill) LaPlante, Bill will be fondly remembered by his brother Jack (Shirley) Lobraico and a large number of nieces, nephews and their own families. A former civil servant with the ministries of transportation and health, Bill worked his way up from mail boy at age 18 to assistant director of human resources, and was a member of Ontario’s Quarter Century Club. Bill enjoyed pretty much everything about life: His family; sports (go Jays!); holidays with Shirley; fun trips to the casino and dessert in all its forms, especially ice cream and banana cream pie. A connoisseur, Bill could tell whether the ice cream had real cream in it, and whether the pie in question was made with sliced, or mashed bananas (he preferred mashed). A snappy dresser; a gentleman; a teacher; a father and a friend … Heaven has a brand-new angel. Cremation has taken place. Bill’s family invites those who loved him to join them Saturday, July 28, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia, Ontario. If desired, memorial donations to Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital would be welcomed.
