After a long and very courageous battle with lung cancer and liver disease, Jo-ann, in her 66th year passed away peacefully with family by her side, on Tuesday, December 12th 2023.
Jo-ann was the beloved wife, soul mate and best friend of John Hughes for over 44 years and will be lovingly remembered by John's children Shawna Shellswell (Warren) Sheri Hughes and Stephen Hughes (Angie) and granchildren Morgan and Samara Shellswell (Shawna), Sasha Wheeler (Sheri) , Madison Sumner Hughes (Steve and Angie) and sister-in-law Carol Barlow (Brian predeceased).
A celebration of Jo-ann's life will be held at Carson Funeral home – L. Doolittle Chapel 54 Coldwater St E, in Orillia on Saturday, January 27th from 1 - 4 pm with sharing of memories from 2:30 - 3 pm.
