Passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday June 11, 2024 at the age of 87. Roberto, beloved husband and best friend of Elisabetta for over 61 years. Proud and loving father of Daniele (wife Carmela) Manarin of Richmond Hill and Claudia (husband Walter) Schug of Orillia. Cherished Nonno of Robert (wife Brianna), Andrew, Julia, Madeline & Isabelle. Loving Bisnonno of Juliano & Ilaria. Dear brother of Aldo (predeceased) & wife Giovanna. Dear son of Cesare & Rosina (De Luca) both predeceased.
As a young man, Roberto immigrated to Canada from Italy with his family. He eventually settled in Sudbury, where he raised his family and worked hard to build a better life for them. Roberto had a passion for hunting, fishing, gardening and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He moved to Orillia with his wife upon retirement. Roberto had a respect for Italian food and culture which he shared with his children and grandchildren. In his later years, he cherished time spent tending his garden and visits with family. He will be dearly missed.
A private family service will be held. If desired, memorial donations to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Oncology Department or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home, Orillia.
