McLean, Jeffrey Brendan

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts we share the passing of Jeff McLean (formerly of Orillia, ON) on October 26th, 2022 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, PEI at age 34.

Precious son to Sheryl McLean (David Devine) and Fred McLean. Predeceased by grandparents Brenda and Kieth Mills, Fred and Lorraine McLean and his brother Chris McLean.

Fondly remembered by step-sister Meg Devine, special friend Monica Cannon and her children Kyra & Cameron. He will be dearly missed by his little buddy Alex.

Jeff loved his family and will be deeply missed by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

As a youth, Jeff played minor hockey and lacrosse at the rep level and built many lasting friendships with his teammates.

Jeff spent many years as a stone mason working on heritage buildings such as the Parliament Building (West Block) in Ottawa and most recently Province House National Historic Site in Charlottetown, PEI.

Jeff struggled with his mental health after his brother died. In October 2019 he sustained injuries from being hit by a car that left him unable to work at his chosen career. The pain led to self-medication and addiction. He was able to recover and had 15 months of sobriety until recently.

His death will leave a void in the lives and hearts of everyone who knew him from all walks of life. He will be truly missed.

A Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held at The Orillia Masonic Temple, 24 James St. E, Orillia, ON, on Saturday November 19th, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.

If desired, memorial donations to S.A.F.E (Sober and Friendly Environment), the Charlottetown Outreach Centre, Peers Alliance or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Messages of condolence may be shared on Jeff’s Memorial Page at www.belvederefh.com.
