It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Don Moreton- the true adventure man! A loving husband to Louise Fox and wonderful father to Ross, Janice, John, Laura and Scott. He will be missed by his grandchildren Tucker and Ruby.

He was truly an inspirational man. He worked for Shell Oil for 40 years as a chemical engineer and then went on consulting in oil refineries globally well into his 80s. He was an avid sailor, sailing around the world with his brother Bud. He thoroughly enjoyed solo sailing around Georgian Bay and the stories he told of those days were incredible. However, his favourite sailing spot was Lake Couchiching, where he kept his boat, had many great friends and taught his son to sail. From a young age, he spent the summer months at Ipperwash beach with the sand between his toes and wind filling his sails.

Don instilled in his children a love for nature and learning. He loved to travel with his wife and family. He was a Mr. Fix it; he could do just about anything. When Don wasn't busy adventuring, sailing, or tinkering in his workshop, he could be found playing his harmonica or reading poetry while sipping a glass of scotch. Truly a life well lived.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday July 28, 2024 at Orillia Royal Canadian Legion Branch from 2pm to 6pm. Friends and family are invited to the Moreton residence for a BBQ directly following the celebration of life.
