It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, Fred Ritter on June 22nd, 2024, peacefully with his family by his side at Spencer House, Orillia, in his 98th year. He is gone to join his wife Florence (2014), married 67 years. Together they raised 6 children. Frederick (Nancy, late Arlene), Larry (Mona), Rodney (Shelley), Sandra Shelswell (Wayne), Bruce, and Brenda Morris (John). He was grampa/papa to 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Dad is survived by his 3 sisters, Francis Reger (Lorne), Jean Adamson (George) and Grace McCandles (Elgin). Predeceased by brothers and wives, George (Ruth), Harold (Merle), Carl (Doreen), and brother-in-laws Lorne Reger and George Adamson. Fred will be missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews family and friends.

Dad was a good businessman, from Garage Supply to Parry Automotive to PAL engines. He retired early and was involved in many local clubs and senior sporting activities, from lawn bowling, President for many years at TIE Club, Branch 34 - Orillia Legion, President of the Roadtrek Motorhome Club travelling across Canada and into the US, and Forest Home United Church, where he enjoyed helping with the church suppers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He sold the snowmobiles to become a snowbird and spent several winters in Florida. A very special thank you to the staff at Spencer House, especially all the amazing staff on Spruce Lane. He was truly a good man, a great Dad, and we will miss him dearly.

As per his wishes there will be no service at this time. If desired, donations may be made through Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street East Orillia (705) 327-0221 to Forest Home United Church, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
