May 31, 1928 – October 17, 2024

Passed peacefully at Trillium Manor in Orillia on October 17, 2024 in his 97th year, a life-long resident of Oro-Medonte. Predeceased by his loving wife, Mildred Aldeen Smith (nee Payne). Predeceased also by his sister Grace Jermey, brother-in-law Grant Jermey, nephew Scott Jermey and niece Pamela Whelan, and will be missed by his niece Patricia Jermey and her husband Joseph Micallef, Pam’s husband Jerry, and her children Laura (Dan), Patrick (Betty), and John. Special thanks to Craig Shelswell and staff, Roxanne Quinn, and Bill and June Fyvie for their care and concern.

Jack farmed on land in his family since 1872, and was known as “the Hawkestone Corn Grower” for his sweet corn sales. His salesmanship led him in later years to become a real estate broker with RE/MAX. He loved sports, especially his racquet sports of tennis and badminton, as well as skating and dancing. He enjoyed many cruises with Millie, and winters in their Florida home. A special thank you to Champlain Manor, Trillium Manor and Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for their care in his final year. Friends and relatives are invited to the Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia on November 23 from 10 am for visitation, and a service in the chapel at 11 o’clock. If desired, memorial donations to Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital would be gratefully appreciated
