Kelly Elmer Thomas Smith, 57, of Ramara Ontario found his peace on October 18, 2024.
Kelly was born on March 16, 1967 to Bill (William) Smith and Betty (Elinor) Smith (nee Scutchings) in Kingston Ontario.
Kelly was predeceased by his father, Bill, his in laws Garnett and Donna Flaherty, and his brother in law Raymond Flaherty. Kelly is survived and sorely missed by his two children, Cole and Ally Smith (and their mother Lynn Smith, nee Flaherty), his mother Betty, his brother and sister Darrin (Heather) and Tiffany (Mike), his niece Jamie (Tyler) and their children Ava & Cleo, his nephew Nathaniel (Nicole) and their son Leon, his brother in law Lawrence Flaherty, his niece Erin (Dave) and their children Aven, Hartley & Mason, his niece Rae-Anne (Taylor) and their son River, his honorary brother Johnny (John) Landry. Kelly will be loved and fondly remembered by many friends, his service brothers, sisters and family left behind.
Kelly was an incredible father, loving son and brother, a gifted athlete, a kind man and a reliable friend. A mediocre golfer, a hell of a sled rider and a pretty decent fisherman. The man could build anything with his two hands and a couple cuss words thrown in. Kelly was dedicated to saving the lives of hundreds if not thousands of people throughout his almost 30 year career at Toronto Fire, and was always the first person you could count on if you needed anything.
A Firefighter Active Member Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, October 30th at 11AM at the Hawk Ridge Golf Club, 1151 Hurlwood Lane, Severn which will be immediately followed by a Celebration of Kelly's Life from 12 noon until 4p.m. As per Kelly's wishes this is not a formal farewell, but we wish to celebrate and honour his legacy.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to a mental health organization of your choosing, suggested #IveGotYourBack911 and can be made through the Mundell Funeral Home (705)325-2231.
