Smith; Marion Elizabeth (nee Denne)
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marion Elizabeth Smith (Denne), on March 5, 2024, at the age of 94 years, at Oak terrace, Orillia. Beloved and devoted wife to John J. Smith for 66 years, whom she cared for until the time of his death. Loving mother to Dianne Smith-Dodson (Rick) and David Smith (Ruth). She took immense pride in her grandchildren Nathan Inch (Trish), Justin Inch (predeceased), Grayson Inch (Meghan), Mason Inch (Carmen), Cory Vanderveen (Jocelyn) and Keziah Pilger (Dennis). She found great joy in the presence of her 10 great grandchildren.
Marion always held her siblings and their spouses close to her heart. Predeceased by her brothers Reg Denne (Mable) and Wallace Denne (Anne), and her sister Mryt Reynolds (Don). Survived by her "baby sister" Rene Smith (Tom). She always said she had the best in-laws, predeceased by Jim Smith (Helen), Charles Smith (Olive), Anna McDonnell (Berle) and Theresa Duffy. Survived by Francis Smith (Carol). She will fondly be remembered by Melissa Dodson-Ormesher (Jeff) and Cathy Dodson and their families. Marion was known for her homemade bread, quilts and knitting, dill pickles and strawberry jam. She was steadfast in her love of family and was always there for us. We all learned to "pick frogs" at a young age and the value of a "buck" because of her. Cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Church of the Guardian Angels, 115 West St., N., Orillia on Thursday, March 21st, 2024, at 1:30 pm.
