Peacefully, with her family by her side at Victoria House in Orillia. Mom has now joined her beloved husband and travel partner of 63 years, Josef (2021), her precious son Eric (1985) and her adoring son-in-law Mark Barnartt (2019).
The best Mom in the world leaves behind her daughter, Glenna and her son, Peter (Shelley). Sylvia was an amazing Nana to Jordan Barnartt and Michael Hon and a wonderful big sister to Carol Bylow.
Sylvia loved to travel and was so excited when they bought their first motorhome in 1977 and appropriately named her “Sally’s Dream”. Mom and Dad travelled all through Canada and the United States for nearly 40 years, meeting and making new friends everywhere they went.
Aunt Sally will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews in Orillia, Austria and England and by her honorary son Gary Tomlinson and his family.
We would like to express our love and gratitude to the staff of Victoria House and Bayshore Nursing for the care they showed.
Cremation has already taken place. If desired, memorial donations to the Orillia SPCA would be appreciated. A celebration of Mom’s life will take place in the spring.
