Passed on March 11, 2018 at Trillium Manor. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years Joyce (nee Edwards), 3 children - John (Sue, Courtney, B.C.), Karen (Bob, Orillia), and Peggy (Kingston), 8 beautiful granddaughters, and 14 great grandchildren. Frank was known as “Mr. Post Office” with 35 years of service at Canada Post. He was also active in the sports community, playing and coaching hockey, softball, curling, horseshoes and golf. Frank chaired the committee responsible for hosting the 1981 Founder’s Cup, the national lacrosse championship. He was the first recipient of the Orillia Travelway’s Sports recognition award (1976). His years of community service were recognized when he was honoured to receive “Orillia’s Citizen of the Year” in 1981. Frank was a Branch 34 Legion member for over 70 years. Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 15 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00, with the funeral on Friday, March 16 at 1:00 p.m. Both will be held at Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia. In lieu of flowers, donations to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34 Poppy Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
