Passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side at Mariposa House Hospice, on October 27, 2024, in her 84th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Patrick Verner (Pat), in their 64th year of marriage. Loving and devoted mother of Patrick Dean Verner (Sherry), Paul David Verner, Daniel Owen Verner (Linda) and Kristi Laura Verner (Gary). Proud grandmother of Emilie (John), Elizabeth (Nick), Cole (Megan) & great grandmother of Peter and Theodore. Cherished daughter of the late George & Dorothy Kirk. Dear sister of Mary Jane Leewis (Keith) and the late Barbara Dixon (Carl). Dear sister in law of Ross (Betty), Bob (predeceased), Greg (Lynn) and Bruce (Joyce). She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Georgette will be remembered for her passion for her many artistic endeavours especially the many styles and types of painting. She took great enjoyment being involved in church and community activities. She was always involved with her children’s activities in particular the Girl Guides of Canada as a Tawnie Owl for 7- and 8-year-olds.
The family wishes to thank CarePartners, Helping Hands, and the staff and volunteers of Mariposa House Hospice for their utmost care and compassion shown to Georgette and her family.
Arrangements have been entrusted with Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
