It is with great sadness that we share the news that Harvey James Young passed away peacefully at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital with his family by his side, on Monday, October 9th 2023, at the age of 81.
Harvey was the loving father of Randy(predeceased), Brian, and Wendy. Grandfather of Brandon and Jessica and Great-grandfather of Parker.
He was the son to George and Phoebe Young(both predeceased), and the brother to Sharon Macdonald (predeceased)(Charlie), Geordie Young(predeceased)(Marion), Margaret Nelson(Dave)(both predeceased), Shelby Rollanson (predeceased)(George), Laura Mclean (Bill), Roger Young, Gloria Fleming (Doug)(predeceased), Joyce McClellan (Ken), Olive Page (Alex), and Lois Young, all predeceased.
Harvey will be lovingly remembered by Sheila Young and Helen Stewart, and will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Harvey could always be found tinkering in the shop, or tending to his garden. He loved the days when he was the Dj for dances, chaperone on Brian and Wendy's school trips, having drinks with his hunting gang at camp, fishing on Rainey Lake, and all the Shenanigans that went along with it. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
But what he truly loved was spending time with his grandchildren Brandon and Jessica. He loved them more than words can say.
Harvey did not want to have a service, so please raise a glass and cheers to a man we all loved and cherished.
