My name is Judith Cox and I am running for the position of Ward 2 Councillor in Severn Township. I was born and raised in Coldwater, my roots in this community run deep. After 20 years working as an Educational Assistant , I have retIred. I was Ward 2 Councillor for 6 years and the last 18 years as your Deputy Mayor. After much thought I decided to run as your Councillor so I can devote more time to Severn. I love this township and have worked hard to make it a great and safe place to live. I’ve volunteered for many events and clubs over the years and still do today.
My past experience has given me an overall perspective of where our community has been, where we are now and where we need to be in the future!
I will continue to support and market our Coldwater and township businesses. These businesses are owned by your friends and neighbors. Strong businesses make strong communities. We need to maintain and improve roads and bridges. I will address the many speeding issues. I would like to continue to expand recreational and cultural programs for all ages and develop parklands and playgrounds. Farming is our heritage, I want to continue to preserve our rural character and environment. I urge everyone to participate in our Official Plan Review next year. This is your chance to have a voice in future land use and development in your township.
My promise: I will continue to be accessible, fair and accountable to the residents of Severn Township. I will continue to work as a team member on council, listen to your concerns and provide quality decisions. People come first and deserve to be heard.
