As a graduate of Trent University, I have an Honors Degree in Business Administration and Policy Studies. Born and raised in Oro-Medonte, I chose to return after university to settle and raise my family.
I was employed for 25-plus years in sales and strategic business management with major corporations which include Labatt’s and Akzo Nobel. Most recently, for the past 10 years, I have owned and operated a successful small business close to home.
My experiences in the corporate world have allowed me to develop strong leadership, clear communication and entrepreneurial skills and a business acumen which I feel could be utilized to ensure responsible, efficient and effective use of our municipal tax dollars in Oro-Medonte while promoting small business and recreation development.
Transparency, ongoing communication and the concerns of my constituents are of utmost importance to me.
If successful in this October’s election, I feel it is imperative that I and the rest of the council produce a balanced strategic plan that addresses residential development, road maintenance, industrial growth, short term rentals (Airbnb), local jobs and recreation development while ensuring cultural and environmental preservation.
At this point in my life, I feel very fortunate to have the time and expertise required and will work hard to ensure all of my constituents’ concerns are addressed.
We are exceptionally fortunate to live, work and play in this great municipality. The progress we have achieved and the future prosperity is nothing short of exciting.
With an ambitious vision, we can make great strides in shaping Oro-Medonte into a township that is increasingly vibrant, innovative, inclusive and sustainable while MOST importantly maintaining the environment and “small town” closeness and warmth to which we are all accustomed.
I’m asking for your support in this year’s municipal election to be your Ward 5 councillor.
