Barrie man facing dozens of charges in Caledon OPP fraud probe

A Barrie man is facing 47 fraud charges following an investigation by Caledon OPP.

In October 2022, provincial police say a business reported fraudulent activity in one of their accounts, leading an investigation by the Caledon OPP major crime unit.

On Jan. 28, police say 34-year-old Giuseppe Cordi, of Barrie, was arrested and charged with 41 counts of fraud under $5,000 and six counts of fraud over $5,000.

None of the allegations have been tested in court. 

No other details about the alleged fraud scheme have been released. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on Feb. 27.
