A boy has drowned in Georgina after jumping from a bridge into the water near where Lake Simcoe and Black River intersect.
Officers received a call about children jumping from a bridge in the area of Hedge Road in Jackson's Point on Monday afternoon, York Regional Police said.
A boy was found in the water about an hour later and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
A coroner is investigating and police said they will not be releasing any further details, including the child's age, at this time.
