Driver in crash registers over 4 times the legal alcohol limit: OPP

Provincial police have charged a northern Ontario woman with impaired and dangerous driving in connection with a collision north of Barrie on the weekend after she allegedly registered four times the legal limit of alcohol.

At 3:07 p.m. on Sunday, Huronia West OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Horseshoe Valley Road and County Road 27 in Springwater Township. 

Police said no injuries were reported at the time of the crash.

Officers conducted an impaired driving investigation and the driver of one of the vehicles registered more than four times the legal limit, according to an OPP news release.

Emily Ann Neat, 29, of Terrace Bay, has been charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired (alcohol and drugs), operation of a motor vehicle while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80 plus, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Collingwood courthouse on Nov. 26.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.
