Fentanyl seized after OPP nab two suspects fleeing vacant home

Police say two people were charged with breaking and entering, while one also faces possession, probation charges

Police say they arrested two suspects who were found breaking into a vacant home Saturday in Midland.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP say they were alerted to a break-and-enter in progress at an unoccupied residence on Fifth Street.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. officers observed two people exit the residence and made arrests.

Further investigation resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected fentanyl, police said in a news release.

Blair Edward Clare, 32, of no fixed address, Midland, was charged with break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Kayla Lecamp, 36, of Barrie is charged with:

  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid (other than heroin)
  • Fail to comply with probation order

The accused were released to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on Nov. 28.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Clare and Lecamp are considered innocent unless proven guilty.
