Fires destroy more homes under construction in Bond Head

There are no injuries reported because both homes were unoccupied, Bradford's deputy fire chief says

UPDATED on Oct. 13 at 10:05 a.m.: Two more suspicious fires at new-home builds are under investigation in Bond Head.

Bradford Fire and Emergency Services crews, South Simcoe police and paramedics were called to structure fires at 173 and 177 Rowe Street Sunday at around 4:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, flames were visible at one structure and smoke was pouring out of both.

“The one structure is out, however we are continuing to fight the fire in the second structure,” deputy fire chief Steve Hall told Village Media. “Fires are deemed suspicious and South Simcoe Police (and) OFM (Office of the Fire Marshal) have been notified to investigate.”

There are no injuries reported because both homes were unoccupied, he said.
