Georgina teacher accused of sexually assaulting student

Police believe there could be other victims

Andrew Hagerman has been charged with sexual assault.

A teacher from Georgina has been charged with sexual assault against a student.

On Dec. 9, police began an investigation after the student reported having been sexually assaulted in September. The accused has been working as a teacher with the York Region District School Board, York Regional Police said in a news release.

The name and location of the school are not being released to protect the victim’s identity.

The suspect is also a volleyball coach in Keswick.

Andrew Hagerman, 51, faces one count of sexual assault.
