A man has been charged with first-degree murder in relation to the Dec. 18 death of a Beaver Creek Institution inmate.
Bracebridge OPP responded to the correctional facility in Gravenhurst shortly before 10 p.m. after receiving a report of an inmate having suffered “significant injuries.”
Leslie Ma, 31, of Alberta, was pronounced dead at hospital.
On Thursday, police announced they had charged Devon Saunders, 54. He was scheduled to appear in Bracebridge court Thursday.
The investigation into the incident is continuing.
