Ontario Provincial Police are renewing their plea for information as they continue to investigate a homicide in Tay Township last summer.
At 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2023, police were called to Maple Street in Victoria Harbour to investigate a report of gunshots.
Arriving officers found a man with gunshot wounds outside a home.
He was rushed to a Toronto-area trauma centre.
Jamie "Bubba" Miller, 41, a father of seven and the owner of Bubba's Pizza in Victoria Harbour, died of his injuries 5 days later.
Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
"We believe someone knows something that can help hold the person or persons responsible for Jamie's death accountable,” said OPP Acting Detective Inspector Melanie Mezzatesta in a news release. “Jamie's family and friends deserve answers, and we are committed to utilizing any resource to bring resolution in this case.”
“The OPP will never close an unsolved homicide and will follow up on all tips. Anyone who has any information is urged to come forward. It's not too late to do the right thing."
