Orillia pair face multiple charges after drug bust in city: OPP

A quantity of cocaine, crack cocaine, digital scales, cash and multiple cell phones were seized following a drug bust Thursday in Orillia.

Two people from Orillia are facing multiple charges after a drug bust Thursday afternoon in Orillia.

Officers from the Orillia OPP's community street crime unit with help from the street crime unit from Muskoka and the Orillia OPP's community mobilization unit "conducted a warrant-based entry into a residence in coordination with a separate traffic stop" in Orillia, noted a media release from the Orillia OPP.

An estimated $12,500 worth of drugs was seized during the incident along with over $9,000 in cash. Two individuals were charged following the incident.

Police say the following items were seized:

  • Drug packaging
  • Cocaine
  • Crack Cocaine
  • Digital scales
  • Cash
  • Multiple cell phones

Triston John, 34, of Orillia, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance - purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of crime (currency) over $5,000
  • Trafficking in Schedule I substance - cocaine

Casidy Schonauer, 22, of Orillia, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance - purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of crime (currency) over $5,000
  • Trafficking in Schedule I substance - cocaine

The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia today to answer to the charges, police say.
