An Orillia resident is one of four people recently accused of being behind the wheel despite having a suspended licence.

South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police say between Feb. 7 and Feb. 10 the following individuals were charged with driving while under suspension under the Highway Traffic Act:

  • A 41-year-old from Orillia
  • A 58-year-old from Kincardine
  • A 38-year-old from Timmins
  • A 42-year-old from Huron-Kinloss

OPP also charged five people with driving on a closed highway, which comes with a $110 fine and three demerit points.

“But the consequences can be far worse if you become involved in a collision, or stranded, in a white out,” police said in a news release.

“Please adhere to the road closure signs and arrange an alternate route to your destination.”

No names were released by the OPP.
