Police are investigating threats made near a high school in Gravenhurst that led to it and an elementary school being put in hold-and-secure mode.
On Tuesday at 12:40 p.m., police responded to reports from administrative staff at a high school, who said several young people had attended the school property near Sharpe Street, “got into a conflict with students and made threats, referencing a weapon,” Bracebridge OPP said in a news release, noting no weapon was seen by students.
The young people involved were identified and located by police.
“They were co-operative with police and officers were able to confirm that they were not in possession of weapons. The hold and secure was lifted just prior to the end of the school day,” police said.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Information can be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or crimestopperssdm.com.
