Bracebridge OPP recently charged two people with impaired driving.
On Jan. 4, shortly before midnight, police were contacted by a member of the public who was concerned about a driver who seemed to be having trouble with a vehicle in the parking lot of a building centre on Manitoba Street near Falkenburg Road in Bracebridge.
Police attended and charged Evan Monk, 38, of Port Sydney, with operation while impaired, failure or refusal to comply with a demand, obstructing a peace officer and four counts of operation while prohibited. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
On Jan. 7 at 5:15 p.m., a Bracebridge OPP officer attended a service centre on Highway 11 North in Gravenhurst and noticed a vehicle stopped at a gas pump “for an extended period of time,” police said in a news release.
“The officer approached the vehicle and had to rouse the driver.”
Mackenzie Weaver, 34, of Bracebridge, was charged with operation while impaired by drug and operation while prohibited. He has a Feb. 18 court date.
