A Ramara Township resident is facing stunt driving charges after being nabbed by Orillia OPP officers in Oro-Medonte on Friday.
Police were conducting traffic patrol on Highway 11 northbound on March 21 when they clocked a vehicle driving 157 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone.
Krisandra Stewart, 50, of Ramara Township, was charged with stunt driving, according to a media release from the Orillia OPP. The driver also received a 30-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
"Drivers and members of the public are reminded to respect our communities, comply with all laws, and not jeopardize the safety of our citizens or our neighbourhoods with risky, illegal, and dangerous actions," noted the media release.
