Speeding driver nabbed for stunt driving on Highway 11: OPP

A driver from the GTA was charged with stunt driving after being nabbed by an Orillia OPP officer in Oro-Medonte this morning. 

While conducting traffic patrol on Highway 11 south, an officer from the Orillia OPP detachment witnessed a vehicle travelling at a rate of 154 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone. 

Young Chan Kim, a 25-year-old from North York, was charged with excessive speeding. The driver received a 30-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

"Drivers and members of the public are reminded to respect our communities, comply with all laws, and not jeopardize the safety of our citizens or our neighbourhoods with risky, illegal, and dangerous actions," said the OPP in a press release.
