Thieves steal broken down snowmobile left out on the ice

A 2017 Ski-Doo Renegade was missing when owner returned to pick it up a day later

The Southern Georgian Bay OPP detachment is asking for the public's help as they investigate the theft of a snowmobile in Tay Township this weekend.

According to a release, the OPP received a call on Saturday from the owner of the snowmobile who reported that their sled had broken down and was left on the ice near Methodist Island north of Victoria Harbour on Georgia Bay at 8:45 p.m. Friday, but that it was gone upon their return the following day.

The snowmobile is a 2017 Ski-Doo Renegade Backcountry with Ontario registration 3AM148 and serial number 2BPSUGHB7HV000002.

It has a cracked side panel, which was riveted together, and has approximately 3,200 kilometres on the odometer.
