A person in the United Kingdom has been identified as the source of a threat made against Orchard Park Public School in Orillia.
Orillia OPP attended the school after a threat was made Tuesday via the Snapchat social media app.
In a news release today, Orillia OPP stated it had completed its investigation into the matter.
The local force’s Crime Unit traced the IP address to someone in the United Kingdom. They then contacted Interpol, which helped to locate the person who sent the message.
It is unclear what, if any, action was taken against that person.
In the news release, OPP stated, “An individual in the United Kingdom has been identified and addressed by local police.”
