Emergency crews were called to a residence near the intersection of Livingstone Street West and Ferndale Drive today after a truck slammed into a house.

A two-vehicle crash sent three people to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries at lunchtime today near the corner of Livingstone Street West and Ferndale Drive North in Barrie.

One of the vehicles, a pickup truck, crashed into a house after the collision, while a full-size sport utility vehicle remained on the roadway.

No charges have been laid, but the Barrie police traffic unit is on the scene.

Roads were closed in the immediate area.

Damage is still being evaluated following the crash, which was called in to police just before 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

“They will probably have to bring an engineer out to look at the house,” said Peter Leon, communications co-ordinator with city police.

“It looks from what I have observed that the brick has obviously been displaced as a result of the collision, and the city building inspector will have to come out and have a look at things," he added.

The two drivers and one passenger were transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) in Barrie.

The investigation is ongoing.
