Fin City Fish and Chips Orillia owner Abbey wants everyone to know they are serving Canadian fish and local potatoes.
“These days, people want to know where their food comes from. I source my potatoes for our chips from local farmers, and our fish is Canadian, too,” he promised. “It’s fresh and delicious of course!”
Abbey took over ownership of Fin City Orillia in September. He has been busy getting the word out that he is eager to serve Orillia delicious, fresh and Canadian fish and chips, in a renovated, beautiful space. “We have given the restaurant a refresh too, it’s light and bright, and our customers tell us they really like it.”
Abbey has been steadily growing his customer base since taking over in the fall. “We have many repeat customers now, and by word-of-mouth, we get many new customers too,” he said.
Fin City’s weekly specials also encourage repeat and new customers. “Monday, we have a haddock special, Tuesday, a cod special, and Wednesday is Seniors Day, where we offer 10% off to all customers aged 60 and over,” he explained.
“Thursday, we have appetizer specials as well,” he added.
Fin City is also beloved of those who are looking for a gluten-free option for fish and chips. “We have a dedicated fryer for our gluten-free fish,” he said. “Truly gluten-free fish is rare, and we have people who regularly drive up from Barrie to have ours. It gives people with Celiac disease peace of mind.”
Abbey is happy to be part of the Orillia community and gives back to his community as often as he can. “We donate food to the food bank, and we sponsored the U18 Orillia Royals hockey team,” he said. “They are having a good season!”
Abbey and his team welcome Orillians to come to Fin City and enjoy his fresh, Canadian fish and chips, anytime. “We are happy to be here, and happy to serve you the best, freshest fish and chips around!”
