I would like to address the snow removal situation in Orillia.
I have complained multiple times to the city, phoned and submitted photographs. I have also contacted the mayor’s office.
There is literally nowhere to put the snow. The snow banks are so high, there is nowhere to put it. The city has complained they are running out of room on the streets to put the snow. We ran out of room a long time ago. This issue isn’t being addressed and it’s a very important one.
The City of Toronto has snow plows with an extra arm that clears driveways as they are plowing. You spend hours shovelling and snow blowing your driveway only for the snow plow to go by and block it in, which is thick heavy snow that cannot be removed very easily.
I think this is a very important issue that needs to be addressed. Some people are elderly and cannot do it. Some people don’t have the financial means to keep calling somebody to do it.
We are at the end of our street and have been blocked in by the snow plows multiple times. This is a very important issue that needs to be addressed.
