LETTER: Noise pollution from trains is off the rails

I think increasing train travel in Ontario is a positive idea, except for the unbearable noise they make when approaching level crossings.

When passing through a community, trains repeatedly sound their alarms at a volume that can cause damage to one’s hearing. If a solution cannot be found to alert drivers of approaching trains without causing discomfort to those in the area, we should have fewer trains rather than more.

We require significantly less noise pollution in our busy world.
