I'm not for mandating winter tires.
The issue of (substances) getting in our lakes and water is a good enough reason to just do away with all snow-melting chemicals.
Let's get back to using sand.
There is another issue related to winter that I have never seen addressed and that is windshield washer fluid. It ends up in ditches, rivers and lakes as well.
Which is worse? Salt, washer fluid or not using winter tires?
