Doug Ford’s calling of an early election when it is not needed (he has a clear mandate already as he has a majority government; you can’t do better than that) is another example of this Progressive Conservative government’s wasting of our tax dollars.
There’s the expensive and unnecessary early buy-out of the Beer Store contract, the costly advertising for Ford’s self-promotion, the costly billboards marking the “future site of Bradford Bypass,” which were redone at more cost, and appealing court decisions that went against him to a higher court with our money (against nurses).
He forced every Ontario household to subsidize a luxury spa at Ontario Place, tried to carve up the Greenbelt for his developer buddies, and then there’s the very costly attempt to buy our votes with $200, an amount which doesn’t pay even one month’s rent or food bill or child care — all of which show that the Progressive Conservative party is not good at managing our finances, is not the fiscally responsible government it says it is.
Calling an election now is irresponsible and I don’t want my money paying for it. I vote ‘no.’
