Just what I and many others needed.
Our Orillia Concert Association invited on Saturday, Jan. 25 the brilliantly directed Elmer Iseler Singers as part of their exceptional 2025 season. What a performance.
We sat surrounded by the magnificent sounds of a most well represented Canadian ensemble. Lydia Adams, a most distinguished conductor, has put together an exquisitely choreographed choral performance.
The opening section, Tapestry of Song, made my heart sing.
In this time of global chaos with cruel wars, dangerous threats to Canada from U.S.A., plus a rise in hate and violence seemingly everywhere, this was so important. It will help me to cope with the abuse, negativity and cruelty that affects us.
Huge thanks to all involved in making this most needed experience which will stay with me as I try to avoid and become so distressed at the news dominating the headlines of all media.
We will rise. We will rise. Canada is an accepting country filled by people born here and the ones who choose to live here with the freedom to grow in peace and love.
